About Pradhan

Pradhan Balter is a chiropractor, computer trainer, restaurant owner, author and lecturer. Also, and certainly more relevant to these programs, Pradhan has practiced meditation for 50 years. In this capacity, he has lectured on meditation in some 40 countries to thousands of individuals. These programs have put him in touch with individuals with varied interests in meditation: from students in high schools and universities; to corporate settings; to traditional religious institutions; to health advocacy groups, and more.

As such, his approach to meditation is very broad. Whether an individual wants to meditate to lower their blood pressure or to raise their spiritual consciousness, Pradhan teaches meditation in a way that makes it easy and accessible.
Pradhan lives in Chicago, and serves as Director of the Chicago Sri Chinmoy Meditation Centre.

A note from Pradhan

My way of meditation may be different than yours, and it should be because we have unique inner dispositions!

I became interested in meditation back in the 60’s—hatha yoga (the exercises) enjoyed its first peak of interest, the Beatles visited India—and meditation was very much in vogue back then. That’s when it all started for me. Soon meditation became central to my life, and my experience led me to seek out a spiritual Teacher, Sri Chinmoy. I have been his student for 50 years and my relationship with him has shaped my style of meditation.

But my style of meditation need not be your style. Each person has a unique inner personality, and your way of meditation will be unique for you. We may all speak a language, for example English, but we each have our unique inflections. So, whenever I have taught meditation, it is always with the hope of appealing to a broad range of interests.

All programs are offered free of charge. Really! There is no hidden agenda. For me, I feel that meditation is a gift that was given to me. And there can be no greater satisfaction then to inspire others to explore their own inner nature so as to live a more satisfied and fulfilling life.
